Girls Swim and Dive

DID YOU KNOW -- VHSL held its first girls swimming championships in 1997 with West Springfield High School claiming the Group AAA crown and Jamestown High School of Williamsburg winning the Group AA title.   Since then, Lafayette High School of Williamsburg has dominated Group AA swimming with a VHSL-record five championships from 2004-08.  Langley High School of McLean won four straight Group AAA titles from 1998-2001. 

At the 2011 Group AAA Championships, Langley School won its fifth AAA title with Oakton High School finishing second.   Western Albemarle High School claimed its first swimming title with  two-time defending champion Hidden Valley finishing second at the 2011 Group AA/A championships.

3,931 girls at 176 member schools participated in girls swimming during the 2009-10 season.
