Online Exams
All officials exams are now administered on line via the NFHS website. The link to the exam is exams.nfhs.org. You may either copy and paste the link into your browser window, or simply click on the link from here ».
A minimum score of 70 is required to officiate a VHSL contest. A minimum score of 80 is required for and post-season eligibility. In addition to attaining the required exam score, officials must also attend the annual VHSL rules clinic for each sport in which they register. Officials who do not attend the clinic, may not work at the varsity level regardless of exam score.

Take 29 south into Charlottesville to the 250-East Bypass toward Richmond. Drive approximately four miles on 250. After you pass the Pantops Shopping Center (Applebees, Giant, Starbucks, Liberty Gas Station), turn RIGHT onto State Farm Blvd. The VHSL building is the fourth building on the right.
Take I-64 East to Exit 124/Shadwell. Turn left at the bottom of the exit ramp onto Hwy. 250. At the fourth light, turn left onto State Farm Blvd. The VHSL building is the fourth building on the right.
I-64 West to Exit 124/Shadwell. Turn right on Rt. 250. At the fourth light, turn Left on State Farm Blvd. The VHSL building is the fourth building on the right.
Take I-64 East to Exit 124/Shadwell. Turn left at the bottom of the exit ramp onto Hwy. 250. At the fourth light, turn left onto State Farm Blvd. The VHSL building is the fourth building on the right.
