Boys Swim and Dive

DID YOU KNOW -- VHSL first conducted swimming championship in 1997 with Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology in Alexandria winning the first title.  Since the 2002-03 season, James Robinson Secondary School in Fairfax has won seven straight Group AAA swimming championships.    Group AA/A held its first championship in 2000 with Lafayette High School of Williamsburg capturing the first crown.  Since then, Jamestown High School of Williamsburg has won four state titles, including three in a row from 2006-2008, but had its streak broken in 2009 with Lafayette winning its second VHSL championship.

3,513 boys at 174 member schools participated in boys swimming during the 2008-09 season.
