Crowd Control Procedures for Athletic Events

On May 25, 1999, nearly 50 inuential leaders in sports issued the Arizona Sports Summit Accord to encourage greater emphasis on the ethical and character-building aspects of athletic competition.  At its March 2000 meeting, the VHSL Executive Committee endorsed and adopted the accord's operating principles.  It is hoped that the framework and values set forth by the Arizona
Accord will be practiced widely by VHSL schools and others who are responsible for administering athletic programs.  To read the full Accord and to learn strategies on how you can promote good sportsmanship, go to http://www.charactercounts.org/sports/accord.htm.
