The Allstate Foundation-VHSL Achievement Award Winners Announced

10 outstanding students representing the very best of Virginia's graduating seniors will be honored at a luncheon on Monday, May 13 at the Omni Hotel in Charlottesville

Charlottesville, VA - Ten high school seniors representing all parts of the state have been selected to receive the 2013 The Allstate Foundation/VHSL Achievement Award, the highest honor given by the Virginia High School League, to students who have excelled in the classroom and in athletic and academic activities.  A luncheon to honor this year's winners will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, May 13 at the Omni Hotel in Charlottesville.  Ken Willard, Virginia High School Hall of Famer and former San Francisco 49ers great, will be the keynote speaker.

This year's award winners:

Group A Female Athlete of the Year - Sarah Cameron, East Rockingham High School
Group A Male Athlete of the Year - Chaz Jones, Northwood High School
Group A Academic Activities - Jessica Vishneski, Eastern Montgomery High School
Group AA Female Athlete of the Year - Sarah Thomas, E.C. Glass High School
Group AA Male Athlete of the Year - Daniel Kuzjak, Western Albemarle
Group AA Academic Activities - Lyndsay Welch, Powhatan High School
Group AAA Female Athlete of the Year - Rachel Galton, Maggie Walker Governor's School
Group AAA Male Athlete of the Year - Patrick O'Connor, Thomas Jefferson HS for Science and Techonolgy
Group AAA Academic Activities - Gabby Scalzo, Ocean Lakes High School
William Andrew Mullins Courageous Achievement Award - Drew Bonner, Fairfax High School
