The Virginia High School League (VHSL) is an alliance of Virginia's 312 public high schools providing quality student activities. VHSL programs are an extension of the classroom and provide students with an opportunity to develop teamwork and leadership skills, to learn the importance of sportsmanship ethics and integrity, and to become better citizens. More than 200,000 students participate in VHSL programs.
As an extension of the Virginia High School League, the VHSL Foundation stimulates ongoing statewide support for League activities and programs by securing, managing and allocating resources for the expansion and enrichment of League services to Virginia's youth.
According to a recent American College Testing Service survey, the one yardstick that can be used to predict later success in life is achievement in co-curricular school activities. A survey of Fortune 500 companies indicated that 95 percent of people at the executive vice president level or above had one thing in common--they all had participated in high school sports.
