VHSL Foundation announces "The Bryant Stith Coaches Challenge"
"How excited and pleased we are that current VHSL Foundation Board member and long-time basketball great, Bryant Stith, has offered to match brand new cumulative gifts from coaches to VHSL Foundation up to $ 2,500,” said Ken Tilley, VHSL Executive Director. “Bryant was not only a great basketball player at Brunswick High School, the University of Virginia and in the NBA, but he continues to be interested in ‘giving back’ and in supporting other high school kids in the Commonwealth. We are very grateful for the example he sets."
Here's how it works:
For every new gift from active or retired coaches given by June 30, the VHSL Foundation will receive double the amount. Two dollars for every dollar! It's a two-fer!
What a huge statement this can make on behalf of all high school coaches and what a significant impact this will make toward reaching our initial threshold goal of $1 million, at which time the VHSL Foundation will be able to begin allocating funds back to the schools themselves.
Please join your coaching colleagues in making an on-line gift by clicking Give Now!. Thank you very much. A special listing of all coaches participating will appear in a future "Leaguer."
