
DID YOU KNOW - VHSL held its first wrestling championships in 1949 with Granby High School of Norfolk winning the state title. Since then, Great Bridge High School of Chesapeake has won a VHSL-record 18 state championships, including nine straight from 1998-2006. Group AA and A held its first championships in 1971. In Group AA, Grundy High School and Christiansburg High School have dominated with Grundy winning 15 state titles and Christiansburg winning the last nine Group AA titles. In Group A, Manassas Park High School has won 10 state championships.
In 2010, Frank W. Cox High School won its sixth Group AAA title, with Christiansburg High School winning its ninth consecutive Group AA championship and Glenvar High School winning its second straight Group A title and third in four years.
6,962 boys and 87 girls at 261 member schools participated in wrestling during the 2008-09 season.

Take 29 south into Charlottesville to the 250-East Bypass toward Richmond. Drive approximately four miles on 250. After you pass the Pantops Shopping Center (Applebees, Giant, Starbucks, Liberty Gas Station), turn RIGHT onto State Farm Blvd. The VHSL building is the fourth building on the right.
Take I-64 East to Exit 124/Shadwell. Turn left at the bottom of the exit ramp onto Hwy. 250. At the fourth light, turn left onto State Farm Blvd. The VHSL building is the fourth building on the right.
I-64 West to Exit 124/Shadwell. Turn right on Rt. 250. At the fourth light, turn Left on State Farm Blvd. The VHSL building is the fourth building on the right.
