Girls Swim and Dive

DID YOU KNOW -- VHSL held its first girls swimming championships in 1997 with West Springfield High School claiming the Group AAA crown and Jamestown High School of Williamsburg winning the Group AA title.   Since then, Lafayette High School of Williamsburg has dominated Group AA swimming with a VHSL-record five championships from 2004-08.  Langley High School of McLean won four straight Group AAA titles from 1998-2001. 

At the 2010 Group AAA Championships, James Robinson Secondary School won its second straight AAA title with Langley High School finishing second.   Hidden Valley High School won its second straight swimming title with Western Albemarle finishing second at the 2010 Group AA/A championships.

4,060 girls at 173 member schools participated in girls swimming during the 2008-09 season.
