
DID YOU KNOW - Essex High School of Tappahannock, Culpeper High School and Bayside High School of Virginia Beach made VHSL history in 1978, winning the first-ever VHSL softball championships in Group A, AA and AAA. Glenvar High School of Salem, Powhatan High School and James Madison High School of Vienna each lay claim to five VHSL titles, Madison winning three consecutive titles and 71 consecutive games from 1987-89.
In 2010, McLean High School won its first-ever Group AAA championship, and the school's first team title in any sport since 1986, while in Group AA Northside High School of Roanoke won its first-ever VHSL crown. In Group A, Gretna claimed the championship for the second time in three years.
7,918 girls at 301 member schools participated in softball during the 2008 season, making softball the 4th most popular VHSL sport for girls.

Take I-64 East to Exit 124/Shadwell. Turn left at the bottom of the exit ramp onto Hwy. 250. At the fourth light, turn left onto State Farm Blvd. The VHSL building is the fourth building on the right.
I-64 West to Exit 124/Shadwell. Turn right on Rt. 250. At the fourth light, turn Left on State Farm Blvd. The VHSL building is the fourth building on the right.
