Girls Indoor Track

DID YOU KNOW - Armstrong-Kennedy High School of Richmond won the first VHSL girls indoor track championship in 1982. Group AA held its first championship meet in 1999 with Charlottesville High School winning state crowns in back-to-back years. Lake Braddock High School of Burke is the VHSL-record holder with seven indoor titles, including three consecutive championships from 1985-87.

In 2011, Western Branch High School wons for the second straight at the Group AAA indoor championships held at the Boo Williams Sportsplex in Hampton, followed by Cosby.  At the Group AA indoor championships held at Liberty University, Blacksburg High School claimed its fourth straight and fifth title in six years, while E.C. Glass finished in the runner-up spot.

5,654 girls at 199 member schools participated in girls indoor track during the 2009-10 season.
