Girls Indoor Track

DID YOU KNOW - Armstrong-Kennedy High School of Richmond won the first VHSL girls indoor track championship in 1982. Group AA held its first championship meet in 1999 with Charlottesville High School winning state crowns in back-to-back years. Lake Braddock High School of Burke is the VHSL-record holder with seven indoor titles, including three consecutive championships from 1985-87.

In 2010, Western Branch High School was crowned champions at the Group AAA indoor championships held at the Boo Williams Sportsplex in Hampton, followed by Great Bridge.  At the Group AA indoor championships held at Liberty University, Blacksburg High School claimed its third straight title and fourth in five years, while Western Albemarle finished in the runner-up spot.

5,523 girls at 208 member schools participated in girls indoor track during the 2008-09 season.
