Boys Indoor Track

DID YOU KNOW - VHSL has conducted boys indoor track championships since 1950 with Thomas Jefferson High School of Richmond winning the first state title. From 1970-73, Group AA/A held a combined indoor championships. Group A held its own indoor championships from 1974-80. Since 1981, only Group AAA and AA have held indoor track championships.

The Boo Williams Sports Complex was the site for the Group AAA indoor track championships in 2009.  Albemarle High School was crowned boys champion with Western Branch High School claiming the runner-up spot. In the Group AA indoor track championships held at Liberty University, Louisa County High School took home the Goup AA title followed by Jamestown High School.

7,054 boys at 210 member schools participated in boys indoor track during the 2008-09 season.
