DID YOU KNOW - VHSL held its first boys golf championships in 1932 with Jefferson Senior of Roanoke winning the first of its three straight team titles and PGA Hall of Famer Chandler Harper from Woodrow Wilson High School of Portsmouth winning the individual championship. Since then, Stonewall Jackson High School of Quicksburg has won a VHSL-record nine championships. Frank W. Cox High School of Virginia Beach posted a VHSL-record low score of 584 at the 2006 Group AAA championships.
Galax High School won its second straight the Group A 2011 championship trophy (598) and its third title in fouryears. Western Albemarle High School, runner-up a year ago, won the Group AA title winning by six shots over runner-up Western Albemarle (606-612). In Group AAA, Langley High School claimed its fourth VHSL golf championship in 2011 (593).
2,919 boys at 290 member schools participated in golf in 2009, making golf the second most popular VHSL boys sport.

Take 29 south into Charlottesville to the 250-East Bypass toward Richmond. Drive approximately four miles on 250. After you pass the Pantops Shopping Center (Applebees, Giant, Starbucks, Liberty Gas Station), turn RIGHT onto State Farm Blvd. The VHSL building is the fourth building on the right.
Take I-64 East to Exit 124/Shadwell. Turn left at the bottom of the exit ramp onto Hwy. 250. At the fourth light, turn left onto State Farm Blvd. The VHSL building is the fourth building on the right.
I-64 West to Exit 124/Shadwell. Turn right on Rt. 250. At the fourth light, turn Left on State Farm Blvd. The VHSL building is the fourth building on the right.
