Boys Cross Country

DID YOU KNOW -- George Washington High School of Alexandria claimed the first VHSL boys cross country championship in 1948. Since then, John Handley High School of Winchester has won a VHSL-record eight boys titles, its last Group AA championship coming in 1993. 

In 2011, George Mason won its first Group A  crown since 1987, while Blacksburg claimed the top spot in Group AA for a third straight year.  In Group AAA, Stafford won the boys title for the first time since 1996. Individual boys titles went to Ahmed Bile of Annandale (AAA) for the second straight year, Thomas Madden of Skyline (AA) and Walter Morgan of Lebanon (A). 2011 Results »

5,548 boys at 285 member schools participated in boys cross country in 2009.
