Boys Cross Country

DID YOU KNOW -- George Washington High School of Alexandria claimed the first VHSL boys cross country championship in 1948. Since then, John Handley High School of Winchester has won a VHSL-record eight boys titles, its last Group AA championship coming in 1993. 

In 2009, Clarke County High School won its second straight Group A championship and fifth title in the last six years.   Blacksburg High School. the Group AA runner-up last year, made it to top of the podium in 2009.  In Group AAA, Mountain View High School won it's first state championship.  More »

5,378 boys at 290 member schools participated in boys cross country in 2008.
